Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information Jefe Barbers collects, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to book and cut your hair.
Who we are
Jefe Barbers, 142D Shaw Heath, Stockport SK2 6QS, is the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect
- Contact details: your name and phone number, and your email address if you give it to us.
- Booking details: the date, time and type of appointment, and whether you have used your 99p Welcome Trim or have an 8 Haircut Package.
- Messages: anything you send us by WhatsApp, phone or Instagram.
- Payment records: what you paid and when. We do not store full card numbers ourselves; card payments are handled by our payment provider (Square).
- Notes about your cut: if useful, simple notes such as your usual style, so we can get it right next time.
We do not ask for sensitive information. If you choose to tell us something like a scalp condition or allergy so we can look after you, we will only use it for your appointment.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To book and provide your haircut, manage your 8 Haircut Package and check Welcome Trim eligibility (one per person). Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
- To contact you about your booking, for example reminders or changes. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
- To keep business and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To run and improve the shop, such as handling questions or complaints. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
- Offers and news: only if you have said yes. You can say no at any time. Lawful basis: consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We only share it with services we use to run the shop, such as:
- our booking and payment provider (we plan to use Square Appointments);
- WhatsApp (Meta) and Instagram (Meta), if you message us there;
- our website host, which may keep basic technical logs;
- our accountant, or authorities such as HMRC where the law requires it.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
This website
This website does not use its own analytics or advertising cookies. The map on our home page is provided by Google Maps, and Google may set cookies or collect data when it loads. Links to WhatsApp, Instagram and Google Maps take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
- Booking and customer details: while you are a customer, and up to 2 years after your last visit.
- Payment and financial records: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Messages: deleted when no longer needed for your booking or query.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete it, where we don't need to keep it by law;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- ask for your data in a portable format.

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
